Hello Lorraine,
We had a fantastic day. Here are some comments from other teachers in the school for you.
‘ An absorbing lesson the children were captivated! It was age appropriate and fun.’
‘Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Pupils all engaged enthusiastically.’

Dear Lorraine, Firstly, thank you for coming to Linton Heights Junior School yesterday. The children had a brilliant day, in which you played a significant part. The structured discussion at the beginning of the session helped to place dance within the Mayan context. The physical dancing was great fun and much loved by all. Whilst the girls were bound to love it, I was delighted to see every single boy join in with such enthusiasm, inspired by tales of hunting or being a jaguar or quetzal. The greatest accolade was surely from my partner teacher, Mr Wilson, who promptly asked you if you would come again next year! Many thanks to you, Lorraine, for such successful Mayan dancing . NOD presents a special, long-awaited Egyptian dance workshop by Lorraine Theobald: Earthy, Lively Shaabi.
Lorraine will be leading a thorough warm-up and starting the class initially with earthy folk styles, perfecting the Egyptian walk and camels with punctuating hips. The range of music used will include Hossam Ramzy’s Baladi Plus and the songs of Ahmed Adaweya. Students are requested to come prepared with sticks and veils just in case (spares will be available to borrow) as Lorraine has a spontaneous style and likes to have scope to go with the flow.

Dear Lorraine Thank  you for such a wonderful morning of Chinese Dance. It really completed our week of Chinese New Year celebrations perfectly. The children were entranced by your stories, captivated by your passion and hugely inspired to be creative themselves. They were all so focused, and it was truly wonderful to see some of the struggling learners blossom and show a new talent.
We hope to see you again next year.

Indian dance :Thanks for a great day, everyone who took part in the workshops had a brilliant time and really learnt a lot too. It was really impressive that you were able to deliver such a high quality of learning to such large numbers. We used what the children learnt in assembly to do an Indian dance and they showed just how much they had retained. Many of the adults who were helping to supervise said how they really liked your sessions and it was lovely for our ‘visitors’ to see such creativity too! My headteacher actually recommended you based on one of your previous sessions and I would definitely ask you to come in again.
Many thanks
